Grand Tour of the Emerald Isle: An 8-Day Odyssey

  • Meet and greet with your driver guide at Dublin airport or in the reception area of your hotel accommodation. Travel to Cork also known as the Rebel County via the Rock of Cashel, once home to the high King of Ireland, Brian Boru. Continue down South to Jameson whiskey distillery in Middleton for a one hour tour including whiskey tasting, overnight in Kinsale town.
  • Your driver guide will drive your group to Cobh town, home to the Titanic museum and the Cobh heritage centre. Spend 1-2 hours learning about your family ancestry with the resident genealogist in the heritage centre.

Learn about the Famine in Ireland during 1845 and the sinking of the Titanic in 1912. Visit St. Colemans cathedral built in 1919, overlooking Cork harbour.

Continue to Blarney Castle dating to the 14th century, kiss the Blarney Stone and receive the gift of eloquence. Enjoy lunch at Blaney Wollen Mills hotel or the Muskerry Arms pub. Return to the bustling Kinsale town by the marina and relax over a few drinks.

  • Travel to Killarney in County Kerry also known as the Kingdom. Take a horse & buggy trip from the Great Southern hotel through Killarney National Park and listen to the driver share some humorous stories. Taste some delicious artisan food in a local restaurant of your choice. Visit the 15th century Ross castle for a self guided tour and learn about the O Donoghue clan who once lived in the castle. Next stop will be the spectacular Muckross House & Gardens built in 1843 and designed by a Scottish architect called William Burn.   • Today you have the choice to take the spectacular Dingle Slea Head Tour on the most Westerly point in Kerry or your driver guide will drive the 179 km Ring of Kerry from Killarney via the towns of Killorglin, Cahersiveen, Waterville, Sneem and return to Killarney. A Dingle tour is a 5-8 hour day tour and the Ring of Kerry is a full 8 hour day tour. The Dingle Tour includes stops at the Famine cottages, Dunquin Pier, Dunmore head where Star Wars was filmed,  Blasket visitor centre and the 12th century, Gallarus Oratory.

A Ring of Kerry Tour includes stops at the Kerry Bog Village, Kerry Cliffs, Skellig chocolate, Waterville or Portmagee village, Molls gap and Ladies view.

Overnight in Killarney town and enjoy live music in a local pub recommended by your driver guide.

  • Transfer after a delicious breakfast in your hotel accommodation to Doolin village, the home of traditional Irish music in County Clare via the 700 feet, gigantic Cliffs of Moher on the Wild Atlantic Way.

Enjoy the fantastic views onboard the Shannon ferry from Tarbert to Killimer. Stop in at the Vandeleur gardens in Kilrush for homemade scones and tea. Spend one hour hiking the Cliffs of Moher and photo the black and white Puffin birds nesting on the cliffs.

Look out from the O Brien round tower built in 1835 by Cornelius O Brien, a local politician and member of parliament. Have lunch in McDermotts pub, Doolin before checking in at your hotel or B&B.

  • Travel on a cruise to Inis Oir, one of the smallest Islands on the Aran Islands where the locals speak fluent Irish and home to the Aran Sweater made for the local fishermen originally. Take a tour on the island by bike or in a local taxi with Ollies Tours. Also

Take a cruise from Doolin pier to the Cliffs of Moher and photo the spectacular cliffs up close on the Wild Atlantic Ocean. Meet your driver guide at Doolin Pier and return to your hotel or B&B. We will organise a local taxi driver to drive your group to Doolin Music House at 6.30pm for a live traditional Irish music session with your host Christy Barry and his partner Sheila. Our local driver will return at 9pm and transfer your group to the hotel, B&B or O’ Connors Pub for a few drinks and mingle with the residents from Doolin.

  • Depart Doolin village today and drive through the 350 million year old limestone Burren  to Caherconnell sheep dog demonstration. Watch the owner John Davoren displaying his 30 years of sheep herding skills with his clever Border Collie dogs rounding up a small flock of sheep. Learn about the various breeds of sheep in Ireland and take a selfie with the cute dogs.

Next stop is the natural Burren perfumery hidden in the heart of this limestone region. Take a tour of the factory and learn how the beautifully made perfumes, creams and soaps are created without damaging the landscape.

Stop at Hazel Mountain chocolate and taste some delicious Artisan dark and milk chocolate made in house. Your driver guide will drive to Dunguaire castle outside the seaside town of Kinvara and take some photos at your leisure. Taste some delicious seafood at Morans Oyster cottage or have lunch in a Galway city restaurant recommended by your driver guide.
